Hello! My name is Victoria and I am foodaholic.
I don't feel like a recovering foodaholic because I didn't make the best decisions this week. Not as bad as eating 9oz of pasta in one day though.
I slipped mid-week this week. I had to stop at the gas station to by eggs and, of course, they keep their eggs right next to the ice cream cooler. You know the one I mean - the one will all the favorites that are sold on the Ice Cream Trucks. I looked. I shouldn't have looked but I did. It was so humid that day and (even though I don't normally eat ice cream) they looked so good sitting there in their freezer. So I bought ONE...
I bought ONE Drumstick.
I bought ONE Strawberry Shortcake.
I bought ONE Toasted Almond Bar.
They're only one milk layaway, right? WRONG! They are so far from legal they don't even count on the Pick-n-Chews options!
Sadly, that was not the only mistake I made this week.
There are some behavior modifications that are taught to you when you join like HALT and Stay Off the Scale. There are others that you need to learn by experience (like the pasta thing).
I pass these Behavior Modification wisdom nuggets off to you:
1) If you want a sweet treat, like ice cream, it is more legal to go to DQ or a fast food place and get a medium Soft Serve ice cream in a cake cone* than it is to get an ice cream bar off a truck (or out of a cooler).
2) Do not drink a beer the night before weigh-in. They will make you bloated and retain water weight.
3) If you need a mental health day - which we all need from time to time - try and not let it be the same day you weigh-in.
Even though I had a (mostly) legal week and I walked during my lunch breaks at work. Having had a beer (or two) the day before my mental health day where I stayed in bed with the dog watching TV, any progress I had made on Program was tarnished. What was I thinking?!
Thankfully - I was down a pound and not up but next week, I am planning my mental health day for Saturday instead of Monday!
*Side note: a medium soft-serve ice cream in a cake cone is 1 milk layaway and 1 bread layaway.
Don’t forget you are stronger than you think and it’s ok to learn as you go. Don’t give in and don’t give up!! My little nuggets to help the positive thinking. Great Job!! Thanks for sharing🙏❤️
