Foodaholic's Anonymous - Week 7

Updated: May 19, 2020

Hey everyone! My name is Victoria and I am a recovering foodaholic.

I think I will always be a foodaholic no matter my size because I just cannot foresee a day where I don't want a piece of freshly microwaved cake smothered in frosting and peanut butter. What stops me from getting a sugary fix is the fact that Thin's In really is right - nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Plus it doesn't hurt to be held accountable to someone else.

For those of you who don't know; Program offers two alternatives. One - go to class (or multiple classes) and get to listen to other people's stories (similar to how support groups work); or two - have one-on-one privates with one of the amazing lecturers.

I do option three which is the unspoken option that seems to work the best for me. Option three means that every day I talk to Dianne (via phone or text) and I tell her everything I ate that day. I mean every day. If I miss a day - Dianne will text me "We didn't talk yesterday. What did you have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?" Knowing that I am being held accountable and have to run down every bite, taste, and lick keeps me in check. Sometimes. There may be an extra glass of wine or a nibble of a charcuterie board on the weekends but we'll just keep that between us.

Being back at work has actually gone over well too. I pack my lunch the night before and I take a walk on my breaks. Keeps me from wanting to graze while working. I also have been drinking more water at work than I typically have been. Which, according to my mom, means I'll pee more and therefore lose more weight. She must be right because I was down 4 1/2 pounds this week bringing my total loss to 23 pounds.

Side note: I have gotten some requests to go to a class or two now that Thin's In is opening on the 20th. I will keep everyone posted in case anyone wants to join me for that class!
