A Note from A Success Story

Yesterday, February 22, 2011, a Thin's In success had her story published in The Day: Sister Mercedes.

"Greetings Dear Friend,

I send you this letter so that I can share with you what I have been allowed to do. In November of 2009, I was close to weighing 300 pounds. I could not walk well. I could not do many of the basic things that most healthy people can do. The doctor told me that I would soon be in a wheelchair, and he would have to give me morphine. That was all I needed. My friend, Nancy, recommended the Thin's In program for weight loss and healthy eating. I started on November 11th, 2009 and today August 30th, 2010 I weigh 72 pounds lighter. This week, when I weigh in, I will be in the 100's. Now, how is that for victory! I kept to the program like I did when I entered the novitiate 52 years ago. I was determined that I would never been in a wheelchair and that I would gain my freedom and independence to do the things I had to do to keep healthy, and that is just what happened. All I need to do is lose 30 more pounds, and I will be at goal weight. This makes me ecstatically happy, so I wanted to share this happiness with you, my friends. We made it all possible, many of you did the same by encouragement and supplying dietary needs. I am most grateful for all your kindness. You will always be in my prayers,

Gratefully,

Sister Mercedes"
